Stakeholders’ Advisory Working Groups (SAWG)
The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT), MTA Metro-North Railroad (MNR) and the New York State Thruway Authority (NYSTA), also known as the Project Team, has engaged members of the public and interested individuals to participate in one of the Tappan Zee Bridge/I-287 Corridor Environmental Review study’s Stakeholders’ Advisory Working Groups (SAWG). These hands-on working groups will play an important role as the Environmental Impact Statement process moves forward.
The objective of the SAWGs is to keep interested individuals informed about the study and solicit their input and ideas. The SAWGs are envisioned as a valuable forum for the exchange of information, discussion of issues, and solicitation of feedback that the Project Team will take under consideration in the design development process. Workshop-style sessions designed to explore specific issues in detail are envisioned. The groups, consisting of approximately 10-15 people each, will focus on the following topics:
Although the groups have already been formed and began meeting in May,
we are keeping a list of alternatives who will be called upon to attend
