Public Information Meetings -
October 28, 29 and 30, 2008
Overview
The Tappan Zee Bridge/I-287 Corridor Project held three Public Information meetings on October 28-30, 2008 in White Plains, Westchester County; Suffern, Rockland County; and Central Valley, Orange County, respectively. The team made two presentations each day (at 4:30 and 7:00 PM). The team provided detailed information on the findings of the transit mode analysis and bridge rehabilitation versus replacement studies, and reiterated the recommendations made public in September 2008.
In addition, the team accepted comments from the public, and project staff was on hand to answer questions from those who preferred to speak one-on-one to team members. Copies of the recently issued reports were available for viewing and on CD.
Nearly 200 members of the public (65 in Westchester County, 108 in Rockland County, and 24 in Orange County), and an additional 22 elected officials, attended the meetings. The team received a total of 30 comments at the meetings, either presented publicly or dictated to a stenographer in private.
