Tappan Zee Bridge/I-287 Environmental Review

Meetings

The team has held a number of formal and informal meetings with members of the public, their elected representatives, public interest groups, student groups, local, state and federal agencies, and with community groups, both individually and in various public forums. Additionally, open houses and public workshops are scheduled during all important stages of the process to present information and to obtain feedback from the community.

Meetings are held on both sides of the Hudson River to offer the greatest opportunity for attendance and to reach the widest possible audience with information on the project.

The Tappan Zee Bridge / I-287 Corridor Project Open Houses on June 28 and 30, 2010 will be held in Westchester and Rockland Counties. Details of the Alternatives, including final transit alignments and current bridge configurations, will be studied as the Draft Environmental Impact Statement moves forward.

The Project Team has held Community Working Meetings, Public and Municipal Workshops and Open Houses, 2007 (upcoming) in Westchester and Rockland Counties. In addition, the team continues to meet regularly with the various Stakeholders Advisory Working Groups (SAWGs), as well as with the Stakeholder Committee, and continues to make presentations to local groups, organizations and individual community advocates.

Additionally, the Project Team has hosted three sets of Public Information Meetings (October 2008), three sets of Public Scoping Update Meetings (February 2008) and three sets of Scoping Meetings (January 2003) in Westchester, Rockland and Orange counties.

A formal public hearing will follow publication of the Draft Environmental Impact Statement.
